Resiliency

My first boss once told me, sales is not for everybody.  Now I realized it is totally true.  Sales is for those who accept rejection as part of their profession. Yung ang layo ng byahe mo papuntang client not just once but many times just to learn na ‘di din pala bibili.  Dati pa nga commute from Taguig to a lot of places unfamiliar to me.  Kaya never ako pumuti kahit mag-kojic dahil sa work ko, lakad dito, lakad don (nagdahilan pa haha).  Minsan sunod sunod na lost sales pa which is very draining.  May mga clients na pagagalitan ka

Overnight Success

The internet has open up new opportunities for everybody to earn big outside of employment.  But although we see lots of ordinary people become instant celebrities with some who even became millionaires, the same principle of success still applies. Try talking to those people and we will see that there is no such thing as an overnight success. We will discover that it’s not as easy as it looks. Pinaghirapan din talaga bago nila nakuha. With all the tools available that we can leverage on today, still genuine success can only be achieved thru a challenging and sometimes painful process

Opportunity Behind every Problem

According to Robert Kiyosaki, to succeed in life, we must first accept the fact that problems will NEVER go away. Once we have solved a problem, another problem will arrive. The sad thing is that if we haven’t been able to solve the previous problem, the new problem may be a bigger one. This cycle will happen as long as we’re breathing. There will always be situations that aren’t perfect and will challenge us to grow, or drag us to the bottom and stay stuck in life.     The key is to realize that the “PROCESS” of solving

The Facts behind the so-called ENERGY SAVERS

Question:  Is it true that you will save on your electricity bill if you buy and use the so called “Energy Saving Device” sold in most popular malls today? Answer: No   Question: But how come that in their demonstration, the current decreases when the device is plugged in? I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Answer:  Note that only the current was shown in their demo but not the killowatthour reading. Electric bills are computed based on Kilowatthour readings and not the current reading alone.   Question: But doesn’t it follow that when the current is reduced, the

What is a Virtual Assistant for Real Estate?

Let me first tackle Virtual Assistant. In a simple explanation, VA  is  like  the  counterpart  of  a  traditional  secretary  in  an  office set-up. And all business owners need one especially when they want to tend to other important things. VA handles the administrative tasks within the business with the help of online applications. Mostly, she/he should be open for any emergency tasks from the client or business owner especially when it is in a fast-paced business. Tasks can be voice or non voice jobs and the nature of work depends on the requirements.   4 0

What our Country Needs

It’s hard to imagine a First World Philippines without entrepreneurs. The scarcity of new local business brands is one of the reasons why our country lags behind our neighbors despite having a high literacy rate and intelligent citizens. That’s because most Filipinos prefer employment rather than spend time developing skills in creating business systems and growing it. Having more job seekers than available jobs create many problems. People either become unemployed, underpaid, work in a different field, or trade his time and skills abroad far from their families for better pay. With thousands of new graduates, how many will seek

MFI Polytechnic Institute Inc. – Developing minds, improving lives

As a typical 16-year-old back in the 90’s, I was not so sure of the career I wanted to pursue. My senior year high school classmates were already comparing about the colleges and universities they wanted to enroll in, but I was still in a quandary about what life would bring after high school. You see, I was able to go through a semi-private high school as a “Poor but Deserving Scholar”, a government program under R.A. 4090 enacted by the Philippine Congress in June 1964. I have my high school teachers to thank for this, but I thought that

I WANT THIS GUY!

The year is 1984, and the MFI scholars of Batch 1 and 2 are assembled in the Meralco Theatre to listen to Dr. Paul Chang, then MFI Executive Director. He said something then I’ll never forget for the rest of our lives: “Don’t let money be the motivation for anything you do.  If you let yourself do that, you will end up chasing after the wrong things your whole life. Instead, do the very best you can and love what you do.  Money and everything else will follow after that.” I took that advice to my heart, and 30+ years

A Noble Cause

“This will be my first and last job” is what Ms Foy Dablo told me when I asked her about her plan of spending her entire working life for MFI. She said it with so much conviction as if it’s the best job in the world. That kept me wondering why, until I found out her reasons. I learned it’s not the financial reward. It’s in helping deserving students with their problems that motivates her. It was the 2011 Alumni homecoming event so the room was filled with noise as we talked but I can clearly hear her words as
